VentureFounders has successfully supported Micrima in a total £6.25 million equity raise, alongside institutional shareholders including Swarraton, Technology Venture Partners and the Angel CoFund. The latest £3.7 million round was closed in March 2018.

Due to the harmful nature of radiation, X-ray mammograms are not routinely used on younger women. Micrima aims to solve this problem through its proprietary imaging technology which uses harmless radio waves and make breast cancer detection safer, more comfortable, more accessible and more economically viable.

Through clinical trials, its technology has already been shown to be particularly effective at detecting cancers in younger, pre-menopausal women.

The funds raised will be used to commence commercialisation, and to develop further functionality.

  • Innovative solution to improve the screening effectiveness for younger and older women

  • Clinical trials demonstrate high diagnostic sensitivity across all patients

  • A large and growing market in hospitals, clinics and High Street locations

  • Experienced team to maximise the system’s capability and take product to market
